Abilene Kurtz | Founder & Director of Trailhead Tutoring

A little bit about me. I am from Utah and just recently moved out east. I have been a part of the learning community for a while now. I started out my tutoring life under Mathnasium. Later on I joined a team of incredible teachers in Salt Lake City under Eureka Tutoring. That experience is what inspired Trailhead Tutoring's beginning! Throughout the pandemic, I've been helping students and parents reach academic goals even when it has felt like there wasn't any way to get real and personalized help. I've seen the importance of one on one instruction first hand. I've seen the way it can bring peace of mind to both struggling students and parents who see their incredible potential just waiting to be realized. Even though Covid is not affecting students in all of the same ways now as it was last year, I know that many would greatly value a helping hand to fill gaps in understanding that may have arrived as a result of remote learning. Even students that excel in school still have something to gain from personal tutoring and attention that just can't be replicated in a classroom setting.

Abilene has been a wonderful tutor for our family. She is very Friendly and very knowledgeable about all subjects. My daughters felt at ease and always enjoyed having her help them. Abilene was also always available by phone for questions outside of our regular hours and always willing to help.

A GOOD THING.

Our Vision:

broadly speaking, to be a small business that positively impacts the community.

But.

Trailhead is more than a company. Why?

There is no other choice.

Companies alone can't "be" what needs to "be".

They can't be the college students who dedicate their time pouring into young minds.

They can't be the student who reframes their own future through the lens of complete self confidence.

They can't be the parents who see the vast potential of their child over everything else.

So if we can't be a company, we will have to be a community.

The name suits us well really. We are at the head of a trail together. One that might have rough terrain, but leads to great achievement. And luckily, we have the best kind of equipment: your devoted community of friends, family, and students.

Now we just need YOU to start the climb.
